Welcome to my first blog post in nearly 4 years... 😅
It's crazy to think that much time has passed.
But a lot has happened since then mentally, spiritually, physically and on reflection, I'm really proud of the person I've become the other side of it.
So let me try and bring you up to speed...
First of all... 4 years ago I had well and truly had enough of social media and living my life behind a camera. It's funny... sometimes I wish I had have kept it up as a lot of my friends who I used to collaborate with are now on 500,000 to 1,000,000 followers on most social media platforms. That being said, I wouldn't have changed the journey I've been on as I've learnt so much about myself and overall I've had an amazing time regardless!
I am a firm believer in everything happening for a reason! My career... Since I took a break on social media I've continued working hard and passionately as a personal trainer, transforming peoples lives and trying to make the world a healthier and happier place but just out of the lime light of social media. Thats a grand total of 9 years as a personal trainer/coach... It's crazy to think I've been in this career for this long and I'm still as passionate as ever about what I do. I can't tell you how lucky and grateful I am for this.
Relationships... Let's not go to deep on these... lol... Throughout the huge learning curve I've had in this area of my life probably one of the biggest was how incredible muscle memory is! After a pretty shitty breakup... I managed to find myself weighing incredibly low 82kg... For context... I currently sit at 95kg and leaner than what I was at 82kg. A lot happened to achieve that low weight, lack of eating, poor sleep, no weight training and TONS & TONS of cardio whilst playing basketball... After pulling my head out of my arse and getting back to what I love which is bodybuilding, and just looking after my general health with good hydration, plenty of food, spending time with good people that have awesome positive energy, enough sleep/ recovery & meditation, I'm currently in the best shape of my life, physically and mentally!
Last year... woooooo weeeee - what a year 😂. Huge in terms of growth for me. Minimalism to the max... I took a real long hard look in the mirror and started asking myself what I wanted from my life and to be a little less selfless and to do the things I've always wanted... So I sold my BMW and bought my very first VW Camper van. Got rid of my flat, condensed my belongings down to what could fit in my van and moved back home to start saving money so I can buy my first home. With regards to the camper van & minimalism... I can confirm it was single handedly one of the best things I've ever done for personal growth, for all the adventures, surfing, camping, exploring and fun that have unfolded since then. I've now got my house deposit saved and I viewed my first property 2 weeks ago! It's mad what can be achieved in a year when you put your head down... and cut some dead weight 😂.
This year... January... Like most I did a lot of reflection/ goal setting. After a fair few afternoons thinking about what it was that I wanted and what I wanted to achieve, I realised that I've been super relaxed on myself for the past few years and I knew it was time for a change. Although it's nice not putting that continual pressure on yourself, I actually really enjoy the hard work and achieving side of life, whether it be business, friendships or relationships - I always have, whether it was in sport or business. The first goal that came to mind was... I want to impact more peoples lives again! I have a talent there that is undeniable. That is to motivate people to change their lives for the better, physically, mentally & spiritually. It's time I use that for the better! Knowing I have far too much time in my current lifestyle and the fact I want to impact more peoples lives again, means I've gone back to the drawing board. Here is what I have planned and set myself so far.
- Launch of a new online training subscription, anybody can sign up for just £0.33p per day
- Bootcamp in Colchester
- Nutrition Seminars
- Return to youtube ASAP
- Launch my new Software for personal trainers and gyms (Secret project I've been working on :) )
(For the time being Instagram and Facebook will be where you're able to find me.) My current training... I've found a real love again for bodybuilding and just taking it slow. I've been chipping hard at my training to get myself back to my best and I finally feel I've reached that not just physically but mentally too.
Other bits... With working more comes the ability to earn a little more so the plan is to also try and work on something I'm usually terrible at... BALANCE! So the plan is amongst all my other ideas - travel more, get some more tattoos, learn guitar, learn another language, see friends more, laugh and spend more time on myself.
After all... we only get one shot at it this thing we call life - I don't want to live with any regrets, so it's time to make the rest of my life... the best of my life!
I'm feeling more motivated and inspired than ever before and having huge goals is getting me really excited for this year. Let's see what we can do. Hope you are all having an amazing day! Watch this space ✌🏼💪🏼🔥
Quote of the day
"One thing I realised, is that everything always ends up working out. sometimes even better than you imagined. Remember this when you feel like you're in a hard place or you feel like you're being challenged the most. Believe in where you're headed. See the bigger picture."
